International Childhood Cancer Day
Description
The Gold Ribbon is a symbol of hope, strength, and solidarity with children fighting cancer. By wearing this gold ribbon, we show that we are thinking of them – the young warriors, their families, and the healthcare professionals who stand by their side every single day.
Every year, more than 300 000 children worldwide are diagnosed with cancer and approximately 200 in Slovakia. Thanks to modern treatments, over 80% of young patients today have a chance for a full recovery. This is why it is so important to raise awareness, speak openly about this topic, and show these children and their families that they are not alone.
On the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, we will once again meet at Europa Shopping Center – on Sunday, 15 February 2026, from 11:00 to 17:00, in the central area near the escalators.
A rich program awaits visitors of all ages:
Therapy dogs Amir and Klark
„Lights of Hope“ art challenge
Book launch: The Girl Behind the Glass Doors
Dance performance by KDANCE
Kids’ program with Kajka and Mojko
Meet & greet with MMA fighter Veronika Smolková
Concert by Dávid Bílek
There will also be children’s activities, a raffle, health checks, and additional family-friendly programs.
At 17:00, the tallest building in the city – Európa Business Center – will light up in the colors of the gold ribbon as a symbol of support for this meaningful day!
Come show your support, pin on a gold ribbon, and remind these children and their families that we stand together. For those who are currently fighting. For those who have overcome it and in memory of those who are no longer with us.
We look forward to seeing you!
